Description
Speed nuts are designed for retaining light to medium loads. The threaded variety assembles quicker than standard hex nuts and secures fasteners in tight spaces where regular nuts cannot fit. Push-in type speed nuts attach to unthreaded shafts, and studs, or are used for other light-load clamping needs. The flat type, made from one-piece, heat-treated spring steel, is a self-locking fastener used with machine screws and sheet metal screws. The formed type, also compatible with machine screws and sheet metal screws, comes in ‘U’ and ‘J’ shapes that lock into place over a panel edge or at a central panel location. Bare metal fasteners have low corrosion resistance and are a desirable choice for automotive, indoor, and industrial applications.
