After positioning the tool so the varying lines are visible in the reflection of the dent you will be able to determine the approximate size and depth of the dent because the reflected lines will bend around the dent.

The DF-DM510DBW white version is designed for outside day work (Daylight).

DF-DM510DBY is the yellow version for working inside (Shop Lights).
